The romance between fashion and film has long been noted and nowhere is it more ingenious than in the work of director Douglas Keeve. A renowned photographer, Keeve’s work has appeared in GQ, Italian Vogue, Esquire, Glamour, American Vogue and Interview magazine. He has made commercials and films for Armani, W Hotels,Tommy Hilfiger, The New York Times, L’Oreal. Victoria’s Secret, Carolina Herrera’s Fragrance‘212’, American Vogue, Calvin Klein, LVMH, Michael Kors, LG, Avon and Pantene.

Keeve’s VH1 documentary NAOMI CONQUERS AFRICA chronicles supermodel Naomi Campbell’s “perilous” trip to South Africa including an intimate visit with then President Nelson Mandela.

Keeve set out to capture the spectacle of obsessive dedication, sophistication and brattiness that ‘is’ the fashion industry. It is uniquely captured in Keeve’s documentary, UNZIPPED, the critically acclaimed film went on to win the Audience award at the Sundance film Festival and enjoy unprecedented box office success domestically and ties of its practitioners. But the surprise of Unzipped arrives when you realize you’re actually watching a very funny, slightly bent film.”

SEAMLESS, a collaboration with Vogue’s Anna Wintour, debuted at the Tribeca film festival (broadcast premiere, Sundance Channel, 2006). It reveals the thrilling, often heartbreaking stories of three hot emerging fashion designers as they struggle to stay financially afloat, and vie for recognition in this very competitive, and often cutthroat arena. Tough-minded VARIETY MAGAZINE called the film “Impressive! A thoughtful and fascinating film.”

Keeve’s award winning (Tribeca Film Festival) feature documentary on the historically vibrant and tragedy-tinged GRAMERCY PARK HOTEL, chronicles the decline and resurrection of this beloved New York landmark. Studio 54 founder and Hotel impresario, Ian Schrager battles to restore the hotel to its former glory as the building fights back at every turn in this funny, ironic and often heartbreaking film.

Keeve just wrapped a series for GQ MAGAZINE and is currently directing a documentary television series, and developing the scripted film 21 YEAR-OLD HAS BEENS.
